Privacy Policy

The short version

Panth doesn't have user accounts and doesn't run advertising. We use Google Analytics to understand which trails and regions people actually look at, and the contact form sends whatever you type to our inbox. That's the extent of what this site collects.

What we collect

• Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to see aggregate usage — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are coming from, what device and browser they're using, and how they found the site. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this and, in the process, your browser sends data to Google. See the "Analytics in more detail" section below.
• Contact form messages. If you submit the contact form, the text you enter (and an email address, if you choose to include one so we can reply) is sent to our inbox through a third-party form-delivery service, Web3Forms. We don't store submissions in a database of our own beyond what arrives by email.
• Standard hosting logs. Like virtually every website, basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) may be collected automatically by whichever hosting provider serves this site. We don't control or separately access this data beyond what our host provides.
• Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Loading a font means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy, not ours.

Analytics in more detail

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4). A few specifics worth being direct about:

• GA4 does not store your full IP address against your activity — Google's stated behavior is to use it briefly to derive an approximate location (city/region level, not precise) and then discard it, rather than retaining it as an identifier.
• Analytics cookies are used only to measure site usage, not to build an advertising profile or to track you across other websites.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking sitewide using Google's own browser extension: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies/scripts from googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com in your browser.
• Google's own privacy policy governs how Google itself processes this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Honest gap: this site does not currently show a cookie-consent banner before analytics cookies are set. If you're visiting from a jurisdiction where opt-in consent is legally required before non-essential cookies load (for example, the EU or UK), that requirement isn't yet handled here — it's on our list to add.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent any information to third parties.
• We don't use cookies for advertising or cross-site ad tracking — the analytics cookies above measure usage of this site only.
• We don't require an account or login to browse any trail, region, or trip information on this site.

How we use contact form messages

Solely to read and, where an email address is provided, to reply to whoever sent them. If you'd like a message you sent deleted from our inbox, email us and we'll remove it.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If what this site collects or how it's used changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
